About Arab Nurses and Midwives Day 2022
The Arab World consists of 22 countries in the Middle East and North Africa: Algeria, Bahrain, the Comoros Islands, Djibouti, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Mauritania, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, the United Arab Emirates, and Yemen.
On the 15th March 2021 the Arab Board of Ministers of Health declared that all Arab countries would celebrate Arab Nurses and Midwives Day annually on the 3rd of November. The nursing team from the public healthcare sector will hold a one-day educational event on Saturday 29th of October.
The aim of holding such a day is to commemorate the significant efforts of professional nurses and midwives and their valuable contribution to healthcare sectors across the Arab world. The day, and the celebrations organized within each country, are intended to promote a sense of community and collaboration between nurses and midwives across in each healthcare sector.

A Voice to Lead: Arab Nursing and Midwifery in the Global Health Ecosystem
HMC will host this virtual conference designed to bring together professionals from across the Arab region, to learn about the latest innovations in evidence-based practice in the nursing and
midwifery community.
The executive event plan was endorsed by Ms. Mariam Nooh Al-Mutawa (Acting Chief Nursing Officer, Corporate Nursing & Midwifery Department, HMC).
The one-day learning and celebratory event is organized by a local committee led by Ms. Muna Al-Hetmi, Director of Nursing Education in the Nursing and Midwifery Education Department at HMC.
The event is held online to enable participants from other Arab countries to benefit from the educational sessions as well as share their experiences.
