Regional Trauma Meeting – July 2024

The Regional Trauma Meeting (RTM) marked an important step in strengthening trauma care collaboration across the region. It brought together multidisciplinary stakeholders to align priorities, share system-level experiences, and advance trauma care frameworks.

Eastern Mediterranean Trauma Round Table (EMTRT1) – February 2025


A landmark global gathering hosted in Doha, EMTRT1 convened over 400 participants from 25+ countries, including leaders from mature and developing trauma systems.

  • Focused on trauma systems development, education, and accreditation
  • Enabled structured country-level system analysis and expert dialogue
  • Led to a regional consensus on 5 priority areas:
    • Workforce development
    • System organization
    • Data & trauma registries
    • Prehospital care
    • Humanitarian & emergency preparedness

Definitive Surgical Trauma Care + War Surgery Course – February 2025


A specialized, high-intensity training program designed to enhance clinical readiness in both civilian and conflict-related trauma scenarios.

  • Combined Definitive Surgical Trauma Care (DSTC) with war surgery principles
  • Delivered hands-on, simulation-based training for multidisciplinary teams
  • Strengthened capacity for mass casualty and complex injury management
  • Contributed to training professionals across multiple countries and disciplines

Eastern Mediterranean Trauma Round Table (EMTRT2) – January 2026

Building on the outcomes of EMTRT1, the second round table deepened regional collaboration and focused on implementation and system strengthening.

  • Expanded engagement across regional and global trauma leaders
  • Advanced discussions on policy, governance, and system standardization
  • Reinforced commitment to WHO-aligned trauma system development priorities
  • Strengthening a growing community of practice across the Eastern Mediterranean Region

Global Trauma Course – January 2026

A flagship international training initiative aimed at building global capacity in trauma care and systems leadership.
