Regional Trauma Leadership Training
Through the Eastern Mediterranean Trauma Round Table (EMTRT) program, we mentor surgeons, nurses, EMS personnel, and health administrators nominated by their Ministries of Health. Fellows spend two to three months immersed in Qatar’s trauma system, combining didactic learning, simulation, and field experience.
Training Programs
- Mass Casualty Management [MCM] Training Program Hands-on simulation course: preparing emergency departments to manage large-scale incidents, designed for candidates who are frontline healthcare staff, including doctors, nurses, technicians, logisticians, and managers working to enhance local MCM capacity.
- Critical Prehospital Care in Armed Conflict and Other Situations of Violence [CPCAC] Training Course: WHO prehospital course tailored for first contact prehospital trauma care providers who manage acute life-threatening conditions in Armed Conflict and Other Situations of Violence, especially, when working in limited resources.
- Combined Definitive Surgical Trauma Care and War Surgery Course (DSTCW): Designed to jointly enhance the skills and knowledge of surgeons, anesthesiologists, emergency medicine, anesthesia technicians, intensivists, and perioperative and trauma nurses on advanced trauma care and care in conflict situations.
- Trauma Systems Leadership Fellowships: Customized modules in trauma research, quality improvement, and injury prevention. A regional training program that provides healthcare professionals with leadership and management skills necessary to build and lead trauma systems.
Research and Innovation
Our team conducts multi-institutional studies, develops trauma system evaluation tools, and leads injury surveillance projects to inform policy and improve patient outcomes.
